|title=★★★ Wings of the Red Star / The Foxbat Deception (MiG-25) [1/3]
|desc=Wings of the Red Star is a documentary made by and aired on the Discovery Wings Channel from 1998-1999 narrated by Sir Peter Ustinov.
It showcased many achievements of Soviet aeronautical design.
This episode is dedicated to the MiG-25 (NATO reporting name: FOXBAT) - a supersonic, high-altitude interceptor designed to counter the threat of new NATO bombers.
Later lack of intelligence of the MiG-25's purpose and capabilities led the United States to develop the F-15 Eagle. The true nature of the MiG-25 was revealed to the west in 1976, when a Soviet Air Defence Forces pilot, Lt. Viktor Belenko, defected, landing his MiG-25P at Hakodate Airport in Japan.
Today it is still in limited service with former Soviet Republics and some export customers.
